Get in Touch With Iowa County

Iowa County Busted Mugshots is a private reference website, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release status, post bond, arrange a release, or obtain an official booking record. For those matters, contact the official office that holds the record or has current custody information.

Find the Right Records Office

For an Iowa County Jail roster question, a booking record, or a public-record request, begin with the current county custodian:

Iowa County Sheriff’s Office
109 East Leffler Street
Dodgeville, WI 53533
Main and jail number: (608) 930-9500
Jail line: (608) 930-9500, extension 1
Sheriff: Michael Peterson
Public-record request lobby: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office records form asks requesters to allow 10–14 days for review. A request for a booking photograph is considered under the applicable public-records rules and is not an instruction to post a photo or a promise of release.

  • For a current county booking, roster, Daily Activity Report, or a focused county records request, use the Iowa County records guide and then contact the Sheriff’s Office directly.
  • For a possible warrant, use the process described in Most Wanted and verify the result with the responsible law-enforcement or court office.
  • For a recently reported incident, consult Crime News & Mugshots for the source-to-record path; reporting is not a substitute for an official record.
  • For a city incident or police report, start with the appropriate local guide: Dodgeville, Mineral Point, or Barneveld. None of those departments was found to publish a public booking-photo feed.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner or person in Wisconsin DOC custody, use the official Wisconsin DOC Offender Search. It is not a current Iowa County booking roster.
  • For a federal custody question, use the official Bureau of Prisons locator. For an immigration detention question, use the official ICE Online Detainee Locator System.
  • For a court disposition after booking, use Wisconsin circuit-court access and the clerk of court for the county where the case is pending. A court case is different from a real-time custody check.
